Description:
Suspended above the theater lobby, Acorn depicts string instruments from around the world bursting forth from the cradling branches of a California live oak. The diversity of the musical instruments reflect the diversity of Sacramento as a city. As well as thinking about the tree as the raw material from which the instruments are made, it also tells the story of cultural exchange throughout history.
